Hey guys, Neil Waterhouse. Anybody who’s used a computer, tablet, or mobile phone for more than five minutes in their life would have already faced one, or a gazillion tech problems. Most people find tech problems a massive headache. However, tech problems are actually a massive blessing in disguise. tech problems
Tech problems are actually a massive blessing in disguise
The reason is this. Most people throw their hands up in the air and give up when they feel a tech problem is outside their comfort zone. This is one of the reasons why over 90% of listings on Ebay and Amazon are not fully optimized. We call this barriers to entry. As these tech issues continually cause barriers, and the only way through these barriers is to sort out the tech issue. tech problems
The great thing here is the more barriers that you get through
But, the great thing here is the more barriers that you get through, the more of the competition that you leave behind. These barriers really are a blessing in disguise. And the great thing is it’s always going to be that way. There’s always going to be barriers caused by tech issues. And the majority of sellers they won’t go any further. They’ll stop and look for the next shiny new object. Barriers, or tech issues are of course not just with Ebay and Amazon. tech problems
Barriers, or tech issues are of course not just with Ebay and Amazon
They’re with most things in life. I can not tell you how many times people have said to me, Neil, this is new to me. I’ve never done this before. You know what, I also can’t remember how many times I’ve heard, I’ve never done this before. I’m not talking about my entire lifetime, or even the last 12 months. I’m talking about sometimes each week. I hear this line over and over again. tech problems
Most people way over estimate the knowledge level of the average Ebay and Amazon seller
Most people way over estimate the knowledge level of the average Ebay and Amazon seller. I know yesterday I was talking to a lady who six months ago had never used a computer. Six months ago shed never used a computer. She told me she had last week learned to host her own listing template photos on her own domain name. And she felt frustrated while still learning the basics. The basis, of told her, this is not the basics. Less than 1% of Ebay sellers know how to host their own photos on their own domain.
The great thing with Ebay and Amazon
The great thing with Ebay and Amazon is every time you overcome a tech issue, you leave a ton of the competition behind you. And the great thing is the paths been relatively set, so there’s an incident every single tech issue that can come up, somebody’s already figured it out for you. So, next time a tech issue comes up, think of it as a great opportunity.
Next time a tech issue comes up, think of it as a great opportunity
You know, as soon as you sort out the tech problem you’ll leave more and more of your competitors behind. And lastly, be easy on yourself. It’s all about continuous, small baby steps. Most people way over estimate what they can do in the short term. But, they way underestimate what they can do in a bit longer term. It’s all about continuous, small baby steps. That’s all for this week. Please scroll down and leave me a comment for me below. Til next week, list more, sell more. This is Neil Waterhouse.

Great video Neil. Its very simple, yet very profound. Each time you face a challenge, solve it somehow & move on. I love your teaching that each time you jump a hurdle you leave more people behind. You are dead right. As one of your long time students I am happy to say I have jumped over a huge number of hurdles & have left a lot of people behind
