However, many beginners are not aware of the secret source that it takes to make a Shopify store successful without it. Setting up a Shopify store is simply a waste of time, effort, and money. Over and over. I hear the same story. I’ve opened up a Shopify store but I’ve not sold anything and nine times out of 10. It’s always for the same reason. Many Shopify beginners assume that drop shipping on Shopify is like dropshipping on eBay and Amazon where there’s an abundant free amount of traffic but nothing can be further from the truth.
The reality is eBay andAmazon spend millions of dollars each month bringing traffic to their marketplaceswith eBay and Amazon. When you listen item you can get people viewingthat item within minutes. Here’s the problem with Shopify. Somebody’s new Shopify store that has a URL like ww xyz.com is a needle in the haystack or the drop in the ocean inthe massive worldwide web of just under 1.4 billionother websites worldwide and everybody who owns one of these 1.4 billion websites wants their website to be on page one of Google search results. The reality is, without some methodology to bring traffic to your website or Shopify store almost certainly nobody will find it. Here’s why. Let’s say for example you’re selling a toaster becauseyou’re selling a toaster.
You obviously need buyers who are searching for a toaster. Currently, 83% of the world uses Google as their search engine. 9% use Bing, and the other 8% used other search engines as Google is by far far the most used searchengine in the world. Let’s look at Google,but all the other search engines basically workingexactly the same way. If I do a search on Googlefor Toaster upcoming the search results as per the screenshot. Here’s the problem on Google. Like most other search engines, only 6% of Google users go to page twoof the Google search results.
There’s a saying in the industry where’s the best placeto hide a dead body? The answer is page two of Google’s search results because there’s only one page,one of Google search results for each keyword phrase,everybody’s fighting to get on it. As you can see from this screenshot, all the cells on page one are some of the biggest appliance sellers in the country, and therefore they normally have the biggest advertising budgets.

One of the many factorsthat Google looks at for ranking websites in Googlesearch results is authority. These mega store websites have lots of authority with high amountsof traffic and high quality relevant back links from other major websites thatalso have lots of authority. For most people who’ve justopened their new Shopify stores on slash website, they havea huge task ahead of them if they want to try to beatthese established competitors.
Yes, it’s possible Bill take a lot of time and or a lot of money. Luckily though, Google is notthe only way to get traffic to a Shopify store. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of Shopify stores and websites,but it’s just important especially for beginners to understand that setting up a Shopify store is only the first step. A Shopify store without traffic is a wasteof time, effort, and money.
