How to Increase eBay Views to make MORE SALES!
This week’s video shows how to increase eBay views to make more sales. Hi guys, Neil Waterhouse. This week’s video is about how to increase eBay views to make more sales. The way to get more views and sales on eBay than your competitors is to optimize listings so that they appear higher in the search results than your competitors’ listings. And the good news is, over 95% of all listings on eBay are not fully optimized. You only need to know one more optimization technique than your competitor to beat them. This week’s video demonstrates how to increase eBay views to make more sales using the 16 times rule to increase the sales of a non-optimized listing by a factor of 16. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that every one of your eBay listings will increase by a factor of 16. That’s not the point.
The 16 times rule is all about how to take an on-optimized eBay listing and increase its sales by a factor of 16 to sell more on eBay. The two biggest needle movers are one obviously list more proven items, and two optimize all existing listings that you have. If you’re not optimizing your eBay listings you’re leaving money on the table. The 16 times rule is all about optimizing existing listings. I’m not going to go into how to find proven items on eBay in this video, as I’ve done that before in a previous week’s video,but if you miss that video I’ll put a link at the end of this video to it.
So getting back to the 16 times rule the 16 times rule is all about getting your existing eBay listings to the top of the eBay search results. For anybody new to eBay listing optimization eBay’s search results are powered by eBay search engine which these days is called Casini. If you’re not familiar with how eBay’s casini search engine works, again, I’ll put a link at the end of this video to that previous week’s video showing how e eBay’s casini search engine works. Okay, so the 16 times ruleis all about optimizing four different parts of an eBay listing. The first part of the 16 times rule is about optimizing the 80 character title of your listing.
Every extra relevant keyword that you add to your title increases the amount of views to your listing. If you add more relevant keywords, you get more views to that listing. You can very often overdouble the amount of views of a non-optimized listing byadding more relevant keywords. For example, in this listing,many relevant keywords have been added, like dispenser, dry food, grains containers, nuts, storage container, et cetera. These relevant keywords bring in more views. I’m not going to go into how to choose more relevant eBay keywords for your listings in this videos. I’ve done that before, but again, if you miss that video I’ll put a link at the end of this video.
So the first part of the 16 times rule is to optimize the keywords and the title of the listing to double the views to That listing. The second part of the 16 times rule is to optimize the gallery image. The gallery image is the first photo that you upload to eBay when you’re listing an item. It’s also known as image number one. The gallery image or image. One is the image that appears when somebody does a search on eBay for any item. As an example, if I do a search on eBay for, say dog kennel in the search results up comes the gallery image for every listing that appears in the search results for this keyword phrase dog kennel.
By optimizing the gallery image you can radically improvethe click-through rate. I’ve seen click-through rates go from less than half a percent to over 4%, which is an 800% increase. But for the sake of the 16 times rule let’s just say you double the click-through rate. Now you have twice as many clicks. That means you have twice as many people clicking into your listing. So two times for the title times two times more clicks for the gallery image equals four.
You now have four times as many views to your eBay listing description. Again, I’m not going to go into how to optimize gallery images in this video as I’ve done that before. But again, if you miss it I’ll put a link at the end of the video go. So now that you have four times as many views to your eBay listing this leads to the third part of the 16 times rule. That is your eBay listing template. An eBay listing templateis simply a listing template that makes your listings look professional and gives your buyers a feeling of trust and confidence.
These days. You can get professional eBay listing templates created from $25, and you can use that same eBay listing template for all your listings. Whether you have 10 listings or you have 10,000 listings you can just use the same eBay listing template. Note, though, an eBay listing template is not the same as an eBay store template. If you want more information about how and where to get an eBay listing template, again I’ll put a link at the end of this video.
An eBay listing template could dramatically improve sales conversions. And again, if we just use a factor of two we now have twice the views or traffic from the title twice as many clicks from the gallery image. So that’s two times two wiggles four and now twice the sales conversions from the listing description and eBay listing template. So now we have two times two equals four four times two equals eight,and now the magic happens. eBay now recognizes your listing as getting a higher view rate and a high sell-through rate compared toyour Unoptimized competitors. And eBay bumps your listing higher at the surgery results.
We call this the jet stream. eBay always favors or gives more weight to the listings that have ahigher sales conversion rate than other competitors in the industry. This is called the impression-to-sale ratio. An impression is everytime a listing appears in the search results, a sale of course is every time the listing gets a sale. eBay listings that get the lowest amount of impressions that get the highest amount of sales go to the top of the year based search results. This impression-to-sell ratio is just like how super markets work.
Supermarkets put the items next to the checkout that have the best impression-to-sell ratio i e a canof Coca-Cola or bottle of water or chewing gum ora Kit Kat in a super market. Every time some body walks past a product like a can of Coca-Cola this is an impression the super markets know and they’ve got the data showing which products have the highest chance of selling every time somebody walks past them.
I e an impression, eBayis exactly the same. Casini eBay’s search engine gives more weight to the listings that have the highest impression-to-sell ratio. So this is where the magic happens because your listing is outselling other competitors eBay bumps you’re listing up higheron the search results. Now that listing’s getting a ton more views but for the sake of maths,let’s just say again use a factor of two or twice as many views.
So the listing’s getting twice as many views from the title twice the click-through rate from the gallery image twice the conversion rate from the description an eBay listing template,and now twice as many views because eBay bumped the listing higher up the search results. So now we have two times two equals four. Four times two is eight. Eight times two is 16, andthat’s the 16 times rule.
