By adding more of the keywords that buyers are searching for the most, you can radically increase the number of views, and sales, for any eBay listing.
By adding more of the keywords that buyers are searching for the most, you canradically increase the amount of views and sales for any eBay listing. In this week’s quick video, I’ll show you how to quickly find themost, search for keywords for any eBay listing, for whatever you’re selling, and I’ll show you how to do this without using or subscribing to any paid third-party tools. In other words, how to do this quickly and for free if anybody new this channel.
My name’s Neil Waterhouse, and I’ve been selling online full-time forever 25 years. I’m the author of Million Dollar eBay Business from Home and the creator of Dropship Formula. So first in this video about eBay keywords, I’ll be referring to the eBay listing title. So just in case there are any newbies watching this video, and you’re not 100% sure what an eBay title is, here’s an example ofan eBay listing title.
The title for this eBay listing is Best Way Lay Z Spa Inflatable Spas, portable Outdoor Hots Bar Tub, four to six people 5 4 1 2 9. This eBay title is your description of what you’re listing on eBay and eBay allows you up to80 characters in your title to describe the item that you’re selling by any more relevant hot keywords to eBay title, it’s possible to over double A traffic and sales to an eBay listing compared to a non-optimized title.
The more relevant most search-for keywords that you fit into the 80-character title, the more views your listing will get and the more you’ll sell on eBay. By relevant I mean keywords that buyers are searching for the most, these are keywords that buyers type into the eBay search box to find the items that they want to purchase. This is why keyword research is so important.
Your title needs to have the same keywords that buyers are typing into the eBay search box. Don’t use keywords thatnobody searches for, like look or wow, or words like cool orhot or must-see, et cetera. And also don’t use the characters that nobody searches for, like dollar signs, brackets, asterisks, et cetera. These keywords and characters are just wasting the 80 characters so that eBay allows us to use.
So instead of using keywords and characters that almost nobody searches for, replace ’em with the most. Search for keywords and keyword phrases. This is what this video is all about. How to find these hotmost searched for keywords and keyword phrases on eBay. Over the last 25 plus years of selling on eBay, myself and my team have used and tested a gazillion different keyword research tools for doing this keyword research and being registered eBay developers ourselves, we’ve even created ourown keyword research tools who are most of the time you don’t need to use these third-party tools for keyword research.
What I’m going to show you in this video now is all free, and what I like about this strategy I’m going to show you now, is you’re getting the keywords straight from the horse’s mouth, in this case from eBay. In other words, eBay can show you exactly which keywords people are searching for the most. Let’s say, for example, you want to list this barbecue smoker on eBay.
Step one is to go to eBay and in the search box Start typing a keyword or keyword phrase.
As you type eBay’s auto-suggestion tool automatically suggests other keywords or other keyword phrases. These keywords or keyword phrases are automatically ranked for you with the most searchable keyword phrase appearing at the top. As you can see, after I type B B Q in the search box, one of the suggestions is BB q smoker. Now, if I keep typing and adding more relevant keywords, eBay automatically suggests more relevant keywords.
Here you can see I’ve typed BB q, smoker and eBay is now automatically suggesting more relevant keywords for the keyword phrase, barbecue smoker. These keyword phrases areall sort of top to bottom by which keywords or keyword phrases are the most searched for by eBay. Buyers, the most searched for keyword phrases are sort of top to bottom. The most searched for keyword or keyword phrase is at the top.
Now, eBay does not show you here how many searches a keyword phrase gets, but it doesn’t matter. All we care about is which keywords and phrases get the most searches, and this is exactly what eBay is showing us here. You can do exactly the same thing with Google and Amazon using Google and Amazon’s auto-suggestion tools. If I go to Google and search barbecue smoker, Google Again, auto suggests the mostpopular keyword phrases, and these keyword phrases are also automatically sorted by which phrase gets searched for the most with the most search-for phrases at the top.
Now with Google, if youdo a search for, say, barbecue smoker, if youscroll the bottom of the page, Google has a second featurewhere it shows related searches.
So when adding more relevant keyword phrases to your bay title, eBaygives the most weight for the first 50 charactersof the 80-character title. So put your most relevant keywords in the first 50 characters of your 80 character title. Always do your best. Use asmany of the 80 characters as possible, as on average, an 80 character title will get1.5 times more views than the same listing with only 60 characters.
